Illinois Office of Tourism Announces 28 New Makers to Join Illinois Made Program
CHICAGO – Illinois Office of Tourism is excited to announce 28 new makers to join the Illinois Made program. From locally-owned bakeries and craft breweries, to pottery shops and soap artisans, each of these small businesses are loved by Illinois locals and help make the state an amazing destination for tourists.
“The Illinois Made program promotes authentic travel experiences throughout the state. By expanding this successful program we’re encouraging visitors to discover more hidden gems and travel to places off the beaten path,” said Cory Jobe, director of the Illinois Office of Tourism. “Not only does the program boost visitor spending and tax revenue for our communities, it builds awareness of everything our great state has to offer.”
Launched in 2016, Illinois Made spotlights the people, products and experiences unique to Illinois and inspires travelers to explore destinations across the state. There are currently more than 130 makers in the program.
