Illinois Office of Tourism and Chicago Wolves Forge Partnership
Illinois Office of Tourism and Chicago Wolves celebrate Illinois Tourism Night, Saturday, Jan. 21.
CHICAGO – The Illinois Office of Tourism is proud to announce a partnership with the professional ice hockey team the Chicago Wolves to cross promote Illinois as a visitor destination with Chicago Wolves fans and vice versa.
As the first event of the partnership, this Saturday, Jan. 21 the Illinois Office of Tourism is hosting an Illinois Tourism Night at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont with the Wolves as a way to celebrate the many exciting and inspirational experiences Illinois has to offer as a top travel destination. Wolves’ fans from around the region will show their state pride as the team faces off against the Milwaukee Admirals.
The night kicks off with a puck drop by Illinois State Travel Director, Cory Jobe. Jobe will also be providing Illinois travel tips and insights on can’t miss winter destinations across the state as part of a pre -show and live intermission address to attendees. During the game, visitors will enjoy an appearance from Illinois’ own Abraham Lincoln (as impersonated by Michael Krebs).
The Illinois Office of Tourism will have on-site stations where Wolves’ fans can learn more about Illinois travel recommendations as well as complete an entry form for the chance to win one of three exciting getaway packages to a few of the state’s top destinations.
“Since Illinoisans are big sports fans and our state is a top destination for visitors to come see professional sports teams like the Chicago Wolves, I’m thrilled we’re partnering with the team,” said Cory M. Jobe, Director of the Illinois Office of Tourism. “I couldn’t be more excited to showcase all of the amazing destinations and experiences to be had here in Illinois with Wolves fans.”
“Illinois Office of Tourism is a wonderful partner for the Chicago Wolves,” said Wolves president Mike Gordon. “As a presenting partner of our network television package, they have helped our team reach more sports fans than ever before. Illinois Tourism Night serves as a terrific opportunity to showcase IOT’s CVB partners and to remind everyone of all the ways there are to enjoy Illinois.”
