Illinois Office of Tourism Launches New Spring/Summer Campaign and Enjoy Illinois Magazine
CHICAGO – Just in time for peak travel season, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Office of Tourism launched its new spring/summer advertising campaign along with the latest edition of its free, biannual travel magazine, Enjoy Illinois.
With a fresh take on the state’s award-winning “Middle of Everything” campaign, the new advertising spotlights some of Illinois’ most iconic destinations, inviting travelers to experience the best of Illinois during its most vibrant months. From Chicago’s breathtaking skyline to the sandstone bluffs of Giant City State Park in Makanda to sweeping Mississippi River views in Grafton, the campaign highlights all that Illinois has to offer throughout the state.
“With a focus on dynamic urban energy, diverse experiences, and scenic outdoor adventures, this new campaign showcases the incredible range of experiences waiting for travelers in Illinois,” said DCEO Director Kristin Richards. “Our state is a place where vibrant cities meet breathtaking nature, offering something for everyone—whether you're visiting or calling it home, Illinois is an ideal destination for all.”
Starting today, the campaign is airing in 20 media markets across Illinois and seven neighboring states, plus three national markets including Denver, San Francisco, and Atlanta. The new ads are running nationwide on cable and a Spanish-language ad is airing on streaming platforms in all target markets.
The overall campaign is supported by placements across digital, social and audio platforms. The campaign is also running in digital and print media across local, regional and national markets, and features a strong out-of-home (OOH) presence—from highway billboards and street-level signage to high-visibility displays at O’Hare and LaGuardia airports. Additional OOH placements can be seen in Atlanta, San Francisco and Denver, as well as a digital billboard in New York City’s Times Square. To support the state’s diversity efforts, the campaign includes placements on African American and LGBTQIA+ content networks.
