Illinois Office of Tourism Releases Newest Maker video, Scratch Brewing, part of Illinois Made program 

Ava, Ill. The Illinois Department of Commerce’s Office of Tourism released today the newest local Ava business highlighted as part of Illinois Made video series: Scratch Brewing.

Launched in July 2016, Illinois Made is an ongoing program that recognizes the artisans, products and experiences that are unique to the state. It offers Illinois Made-inspired travel ideas to encourage people to extend their travel beyond a day trip by exploring the local businesses and great attractions nearby.

Named by Outside Magazine as one of the Top Four Breweries for foraged beer, Scratch Brewing uses farm-gathered Illinois ingredientsmaking the brewing a perfect candidate for Illinois Made. Every brew combines original recipes, creating one-of-a-kind beers for beer lovers to taste.

The new video digs deep into the process founders and brewmasters, Marika Josephson and Aaron Kleidon, go through when creating a new beerevery month a half.

This Southern Illinois brewing company truly resembles our Illinois Made program,” said Cory M. Jobe, Director of the Office of Tourism. “These brewmasters create extremely unique flavors and provide the town of Ava a great place to have a beer.”
